Invest NI Gets New Boss
Invest Northern Ireland has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive.
Alastair Hamilton will succeed Leslie Morrison in the top role.
Mr Hamilton, who is from Northern Ireland, has over 25 years experience in the public and private sectors, most recently with BT in the UK.
He also previously held the post of Economic and Business Advisor with OFMDFM.
Making the announcement, Invest NI Chairman, Stephen Kingon said: "Alastair Hamilton has a wealth of business experience coupled with strong leadership skills that will help drive Invest NI forward as it delivers against the challenging targets outlined in its third corporate plan.
"Alastair's excellent capability in strategic development and building client relationships will be of great significance as Invest NI continues to support the growth plans of local companies and attract new inward investment despite the difficulties presented by the current global business climate."
Mr Hamilton will formally take up the role of Chief Executive on 1 April 2009 following the retirement of Leslie Morrison on 31 March.

Foster To Lead Trade Delegation To India
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster is to lead Northern Ireland's trade and investment mission to India at the end of September. A new Holiday Inn Express Hotel is to be developed in L'Derry. The new development is to create 47 new jobs in the city. The Duddy Group is investing £7million in the project which is being supported by Invest Northern Ireland and the Department for Communities.

55 New Belfast Jobs Secured
Las Vegas based software provider Quantus is to create 55 new "high quality" jobs in Belfast, the Executive has revealed. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster made the announcement today from San Francisco, where she and Invest Northern Ireland chief executive Alastair Hamilton are meeting to both create and strengthen investment links.

An American packaging firm has announced it is to create up to 95 jobs in Co L'Derry. Bemis is establishing a new European Business Service Centre in Campsie and the new jobs are to be created over the next five years. The new posts will be in finance and IT.
