Eoghan Returns To Hero's Welcome
Derry's Walls looked down on a pre-Christmas spectacle of entertainment last night as Co Londonderry youngster and X Factor finalist Eoghan Quigg kept his word and gave a heart-warming performance before a crowd of up to 5,000 fans in Londonderry.
They braved rain and cold for almost three hours before Eoghan arrived on stage - having been flown in from his home town of Dungiven by helicopter - with a wink and a wave at Guildhall Square and immediately belted out a special song 'Imagine'.
The 16-year-old had earlier flown from London to Newtownards airfield and then to the town at the foot of the Sperrins by helicopter to meet and greet fellow pupils and teachers at his school, St Patrick's High.
Derry city centre then saw a major operation put together to turn Guildhall Square into a live concert venue.
Fans brandishing 'Eoghan to Win' and 'We Love U Eoghan' placards gathered inside Guildhall Square and Waterloo Place, with hundreds more gathered at barriers placed around entry points to the city centre.
The young singer will now fight it out in the X Factor grand final on Saturday, with just one of the three who have each won places in the spectacular UK TV programme making it to the accolade of X Factor winner, 2008.
