Police station attacked by petrol bombers
A police station on the predominantly nationalist Springfield Road in west Belfast came under sustained attack last night from around 50 youths.
The attack occurred at around midnight when the gang of masked youths threw about 50 petrol bombs and other missiles at the station.
Police reported that there were no injuries during the incident and the station received only minor damage to its gateway.
The attack was the second in a few of hours on the station after it was targeted by a youths who set off fireworks and threw stones at around 5pm.
Elsewhere a pipe bomb damaged the home of an elderly woman on Broadway at around 3am. The 70-year-old pensioner was not injured in the incident.

Rosslea police station attacked by republican youths
A police station in County Fermanagh was attacked by a crowd of republican youths on Sunday afternoon. Around 50 masked youths attacked the police station and caused damage to the exterior of the building. Police said that there had been no injuries during the attack.

Police attacked by petrol bombers on Springfield Road
Police officers called to investigate reports of youths attempting to block a road in west Belfast yesterday evening were attacked by petrol bombers. At around 8.40pm, police responding to reports that youths were setting fire to tyres on the Springfield Road near to the Springfield Park junction were attacked by a group of youths.

SDLP attacked over 50:50 recruitment response
The SDLP has been criticised, for differing reasons, after it welcomed today's decision by the Policing Board to accept a temporary scrapping of the 50:50 recruitment policy for PSNI officers. The decision was taken because of a lack of experienced detectives on the force.

Petrol bombers besiege Lurgan police station
A crowd throwing bricks, bottles and petrol bombs attacked Lurgan police station at around 8.45pm last night. The disturbance followed in the wake of a banned Black Preceptory parade through the town, which the police were reportedly forced to allow through when a lorry driver refused to move his vehicle from a cordoned off area.

Police and family attacked by petrol bombers
Police examining a suspicious object in Strabane's Ballycolman industrial estate in County Tyrone have come under attack by petrol bombers. Officers called in to examine a suspicious object found in the estate at around midnight were attacked by a number of youths hurling petrol bombs and stones.
