Remembrance Services Held
Ceremonies were held across the province yesterday morning to pay tribute to the 'fallen', 90 years after the end of the First World War.
People braved the cold November wind to lay wreaths at Cenotaphs across the country, with the ceremony at the City Hall in Belfast proving to be one of the best-attended events.
High sheriff Margaret McKenzie led the service, with a two-minute silence at 11am to remember those who died serving their country.
Secretary of State Shaun Woodwards and PSNI Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde were also among official representatives.
Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson attended the service in London, where he laid a wreath at an event that was also attended by servicemen and women from Ulster.
Meanwhile, high above Belfast Lough, those paying tribute at the Co Antrim War Memorial at Knockagh (pictured) were given an unexpected bonus as three military helicopters - on route from a Belfast flypast - passed close to the rugged escarpment.
Members and friends from Whiteabbey Royal British Legion braved biting cold winds to recall the sacrifice of generations of soldiers from across the county, laying wreaths at the huge obelisk.
They later held as church service and parade in Whiteabbey, attended by Newtownabbey Mayor, Victor Robinson and a large number of other civic representatives as well as the PSNI and cadet forces as well as the Royal Naval Reserve.
