Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
As the song goes, Santa Claus is coming to 'town' - or to the city of Belfast to be more specific - with the man in red landing at the City Hall this week to reveal that he will be taking up residence in the city centre for a full month before his big day on December 25th.
'Mr Christmas' - pictured here with Lord Mayor Tom Hartley and 16-year-old Suzanne Glover who got a sneak preview of the big man in red - confirmed that he will be returning to his special Grotto during Belfast City Council's hugely popular Continental Christmas Market, which takes place from 19 November to 20 December.
Mr Hartley said that the whole family can enjoy their visit to Santa in his special Grotto - with all the proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign - and even end with a ride on the Belfast Wheel.
The grounds of Belfast City Hall will be coming alive with dozens of market stalls offering a range of crafts, food and decorations from across Europe, and beyond, to delight the Christmas shopper seeking original gifts.
And, this year, there literally will be something for all the family on the menu.
While mum is off searching for unusual gifts in the myriad of stalls, dad can relax over a pint of Guinness or a mulled wine in Lavery's Bar, while keeping a watchful eye on the kids enjoying themselves in the adjacent children's area.
A Christmas carousel will also provide enjoyable rides, and a face painter also will be there to decorate the little ones as their favourite animal.
