East Belfast riots lead to house blaze

A house has been set on fire in a petrol bomb attack in the flashpoint area of east Belfast.

The attack took place at Cluan Place in the loyalist Albertbridge Road area, beside nationalist Short Strand. Fire fighters attended the scene.

The trouble began on Monday night after a peaceful protest by a group of loyalist women on the Albert Bridge Road.

A short time later bricks, bottles and stones were thrown in the area and across the interface from nationalist Clandeboye Drive.

Police said there were no reports of any injuries.
