Police Appeal Over South Belfast Rape

Police have appealed for information about an early morning rape in south Belfast.

The 20-year-old woman was attacked near the junction between Agincourt Avenue and the Ormeau Road in the early hours of this morning.

The attacker was described as being about 20 to 25 years old, 6ft tall with blonde hair and was wearing blue jeans and a blue t-shirt.

The police have appealed for anyone with information about the assault to contact them.

This is the latest in a number of similar attacks in the area. There is, however, no indication at this time that the assaults are related.

Police Appeal After Early Morning Sexual Assault
Police in Belfast have appealed for help after a young woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 18-year-old was attacked on Apsley Street in the south of the city sometime between 1am and 2am on Wednesday, a PSNI spokeswoman said.

Six men have been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in south Belfast. The attack is believed to have happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 19 September. An investigation has launched and the suspects are helping the PSNI with their enquiries.

Police issue appeal following knife attack
Police have appealed for information about a serious assault in Londonderry, which resulted in a man receiving 16 stitches to his throat. The 32-year-old man was walking along Westland Street when two men confronted him around 2.30 on Thursday June 13. One pushed him and the other grabbed him from behind and put a knife against his throat.

Guns stolen in Co Antrim assault
Police are appealing for information after a gang assaulted a man and stole his guns in Co Antrim. The masked men forced their way into the man's home in Burnbrae in Bushmills at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning. They hit the man before tying his hands behind his back and escaping with three guns.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
