Cash Stash And Guns Seized

It has just emerged that police in north Belfast have seized guns and ammunition found in a house in north Belfast.

The PSNI said that a "planned search" of a house in Baltic Avenue off the Antrim Road on Thursday evening uncovered a large sum of cash along with the weapons.

The detectives arrested a 40-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman at the scene.

The pair are being questioned at the nearby Antrim Road Police Station, a police spokeswoman said today.

Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead at a property in north Belfast. A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after the discovery in the Antrim Road area on Tuesday, 24 January. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries. A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man's Body Recovered On The North Antrim Coast
The body of a man has been recovered on the north Antrim coast. Police attended the scene following the sudden death of a man in the area of Dunce Road in Portrush on Tuesday morning, 02 November. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

McParland Murder - Woman Released
A woman has been released after being arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Sean McParland in north Belfast in February 1994. The 41-year-old woman was arrested on the morning of Monday 22 September, and taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.
