Four Charged Over Deadly Dungannon Stabbing
The murder of father-of-three, Eamonn Hughes, 48, (pictured) who was stabbed to death as he walked home from his daughter's 18th birthday party in Dungannon at the weekend, has led to four people being charged.
Liam Murray, 21, of Windmill Court, Kevin Kinnear, 24, Windmill Drive, Kevin Toye, 22, Windmill Drive, were all charged with murder and hijacking.
Kevin Murray, 39, from the Lisnahull area was charged with attempted murder.
Mr Toye was also charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm at the hearing at Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
A detective inspector said the police case was that the murder was a joint enterprise between all of the accused, who were all remanded in custody.
Earlier, details of the incident that led to the fatal stabbing were revealed when it was alleged that a stolen car, which struck two women, first ran them over, then reversed over them again, breaking their legs.
They were both with the murder victim, Mr Hughes, whose son, Kevin, was also shot in the arm with a crossbow bolt when he tried to intervene and save his father.
One of the badly injured women is one of the deceased's daughter's friends. She had tried to help Mr Hughes as he lay dying, when the stolen car - believed to be a taxi was driven directly at her.
Another woman was also struck by the stolen vehicle in the melee.
The police also said they wanted to hear from witnesses to the attack, including anyone who saw a beige taxi in Lisnahull Road which was later found burnt out.
