Accused Clare Man Remanded After Derry Rape
A County Clare man has been remanded in custody, after appearing at Londonderry Magistrates Court charged with the multiple rape and attempted murder of a married woman in Londonderry.
Patrick McNamara, 32, of no fixed abode, denies attempted murder, rape, assault and making threats to kill in a house in Ardanlee in Culmore on Tuesday.
A police officer told the court the accused allegedly raped the married woman four times.
Mr McNamara was remanded in custody to 8 October.

A 23-year-old Tyrone man has been remanded in custody charged with the rape and attempted murder of a woman at the weekend. The accused appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday morning over an incident that is alleged to have happened on the Old Castle Road in Newtownstewart early on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man who appeared at Omagh Magistrates Court this morning charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in County Tyrone in the early hours of yesterday morning, has denied the charges. Dennis Hugh McDermott, 22, from Newtown Place, Strabane, appeared in court charged with rape and causing grievous bodily harm.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a bomb was left under a married police couple's car in Co L'Derry last year. A device was discovered under the vehicle in Glenrandel in Eglinton on 18 June. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder and possession of explosives with intent to endanger life.

Teenager remanded in custody in connection with rape
A teenager has been remanded in custody today charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl in west Belfast ten days ago. The victim was walking along the Blacks Road on August 6 when she was set upon by two people, one of whom raped her twice.
