Floods On The Way As Hanna Flicks Tail
Northern Ireland is braced as the tail of Hurricane Hanna heads towards the North bringing with it much of the Atlantic.
The MET office has issued an advisory notice of severe or extreme weather, which could mean more flooding and major rainfall throughout the area.
According to the Met Office warning, rainfall could be up to 30mm in parts of Northern Ireland. A spokesman said: "This could lead to localised flooding particularly where ground is already saturated."
However there is a roughly 30% chance that the hurricane's whiplash could pass over head, but those who suffered damage to their houses and property in the recent flooding in the North are hedging their bets.
Hurricane Hanna has already killed hundreds in Haiti before crashing into the border of North Carolina and South Carolina with winds of 110 kilometers per hour.
The cold and wet front racing east across the Atlantic is expected to hit tomorrow afternoon, with gale force winds possibly near the coast.

Temperatures in Northern Ireland are set to soar to 27 degrees tomorrow, 19 July. Sunny spells are expected and it is to become increasingly warm throughout the day. Thundery showers will develop later in the evening and a yellow weather warning has been put in place from 5pm.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high winds throughout Northern Ireland. Gusts of up to 60 to 70mph are expected in some parts on Monday, 01 February. Severe gales of up to 80mph may occur along the north coast, however they will ease throughout the night. The warning is in place until 10am on Tuesday, 02 February.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the Sydenham bypass in east Belfast. Following severe rainfall, the bypass has flooded. The city bound lane is worst affected, between the Tillysburn junction and Dee Street. Long delays have ensued for traffic in both directions. The M3 off-slip to the bypass is also flooded.
