Dissidents 'Paying Youths' To Carry Out Derry Attacks, Says MLA
Youths in Derry are orchestrating attacks in the city in return for payments from dissident republicans, according to a Democratic Unionist MLA.
Stormont Speaker William Hay (pictured) said: "They're paying people as young as 14 and 15 to carry out these attacks.
"My greatest fear is that the police do not have the resources to deal with the activity," added the DUP Assembly Member.
Yesterday, a young woman in the city was warned by police her life was under threat from dissidents, who wrongly believed she was a PSNI officer.
Drumahoe woman Lisa Daly was told of the threat last week.
Derry councillor Drew Thompson called on the police to publicly state the woman was not an officer.
Mr Thompson said he had been in contact with the Ms Daly, who is "terrified" by the threat.
The DUP councillor said: "She has left her home at the moment because she is afraid to live there at this current minute in time."
