MIA launches management development programme
The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has announced the launch of the first certified training programme in management development in the UK specially designed for the meetings industry.
In direct response to a survey of MIA members, the MIA have put together a programme to be run in conjunction with Stonebow, the training arm of the Hospitality Training Foundation.
The Certificate in Management Development is aimed at middle management employed in venues and conference agencies, and provides a hands-on, practical approach to dealing with clients and team members.
The programme covers five key areas: Customer Choice for Managers; Sales Techniques; Leadership and Motivation; Business Planning; and Practical Event Management.
All five elements have to be completed in order to achieve the Certificate, which will carry HCIMA accreditation. Starting in October, the programmes will be run at Stonebow's offices in Ealing.
