Two injured in shooting incident

A teenage boy and a man have been treated in hospital after a shooting in County Down.

The attack happened at about 7.30pm on Monday at Barcroft Park, Newry, when four shots from a shotgun were fired from a car.

The 30-year-old man and 14-year-old boy were taken to Daisy Hill Hospital in the town, where they were treated for pellet wounds.

They are believed to be members of the travelling community.

A local Sinn Fein councillor has blamed the incident on a feud between travellers.
