Future Of Iralco Plant To Be Decided

The Iralco plant in Co Westmeath's future prospects are expected to be decided this week.

The 400-strong workforce at the car components plant was presented with a survival plan over the weekend, which should see the majority of jobs retained - if all goes well.

However, the Galway-based company CF Tooling is seeking between 60 and 80 redundancies as part of a proposed buyout of the factory.

Workers have been voting on the proposals for the past few days and the result is expected to be known today.
