Couple escape in East Belfast petrol bomb attack
Two people have escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown at their East Belfast house in the early hours of this morning.
The couple were in their house, on Uniondale Street, when the device was thrown in through a front window. While both escaped injury in the attack, their house was extensively damaged in the fire.
DUP councillor for the area, Robin Newton, condemned the attack, and said it put at risk the lives of the couple and their neighbours.
Police say they do not think there was a sectarian motive behind the attack, and have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
