50 Jeans Store Jobs Announced For Belfast

A jeans superstore has announced it will create 50 new Belfast jobs when it opens a £2m outlet at the city's Boucher Retail Park.

The Jeaner'’s Managing Director Sam Morrison said the opening represented "continued confidence in the current retail environment".

Mr Morrison said: "There may be a tightening of belts everywhere, but our research suggests that shoppers continue to invest in looking and feeling good,

"Jeans are the perfect antidote to the credit crunch as they never go out of style and are hard wearing."

Bombardier To Cut Nearly 1,000 Jobs
Jobs at the Belfast factories of plane-maker Bombardier may be at risk. The company has announced today that it is cutting aircraft production rates and reducing manpower throughout all its sites, and a statement from the east Belfast facility notes, "we regret to confirm that 310 Bombardier employee jobs are at risk in Northern Ireland".

50 New Jobs Announced At Citrix
Labour TD Joe Costello has welcomed the announcement by Citrix of 50 new jobs at its East Point facilities in Dublin. Citrix, which offers mobile workspace technologies, will see the number of people it employs in Ireland grow to 265 people by the end of 2014.
