M5 Crash Man Dies
A 51-year-old man has died following an accident on the city-bound carriageway of the M5 motorway outside Belfast.
The man - who was initially listed in a critical condition in hospital - was fatally injured following an accident last night.
It is believed just one car was involved in the crash which happened at about 10.30pm on Thursday.
Police said that a part of the carriageway was closed for a time but has since been re-opened and have now appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to get in contact with them.
This follows news that the 13-year-old boy hurt in an earlier collision involving a quad bike and a car remains in a "critical" condition in intensive care.
The quad bike incident happened shortly before 7.50pm on Wednesday at Droon Road, near Draperstown and in addition to the boy, two other survivors - who are not in intensive care - are said to be "comfortable" in hospital.
Meanwhile, bad news continues on Irish roads as Carlow Gardaí are continuing to investigate a fatal collision that occurred at 7.30am yesterday morning.
The accident was on the N80 Carlow to Wexford road and saw a 61-year-old female pedestrian struck and fatally injured by a car, about 2km outside Carlow town.
Meanwhile, the victim of another fatal road traffic collision yesterday - at Bunghara, Kerry - has been named as being just a youngster, 16 year-old Matthew O' Connor of Dromtrasna, Collins, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.
