Man Charged With Supplying Cocaine

A man has appeared in court in Londonderry charged with supplying class A drugs.

Twenty-five-year-old Sean Rodgers, from Glenowen Park, appeared at Derry City Magistrates court, accused of possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

He also faces charges relating to the possession of cannabis and having £1,835, contrary to the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The offences are suspected to have taken place at the man's home on Wednesday. He is due to appear before court again next month.

Extradited man denies murder
A 43-year-old Chinese man who was extradited from Hong Kong in connection with the death of a Chinese woman has denied murder. Wong Sui Ching appeared today at Belfast Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of 29-year-old part-time waitress Ho Mi Ye. She had been found strangled at her home in Isoline Street in east Belfast in June 1998.

Radiotherapy Unit At Altnagelvin To Open
The radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin hospital in L'Derry is to open as planned in 2016, Health Minister Jim Wells has said. The announcement will quell fears that delivery of the cancer unit would be delayed. In August, it was revealed that the Department of Health was facing a £140m shortfall in funding.

Bail For Man Accused Of GBH Of Baby
A man charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his three-month-old daughter, has been released on bail, it has been reported. Christopher O'Neill, 23, from Twinbrook in west Belfast appeared via videolink from Maghaberry Prison.

Republicans warned about UVF list
More than 100 republicans have been warned about their safety after police seized documents linked to the UVF which contained names, addresses and car registrations. Darren Richardson, 30, of Moneynick Road, Randalstown, County Antrim appeared today at Belfast Crown Court charged with UVF membership.
