Pharmacists 'Scripts To Go High Tech
A local software firm is to partner with a leading pharmaceutical distributor on a project which will help ensure that chemists across the country are able to make the transition to becoming 'New Contract Compliant' for the Electronic Transfer of Prescription initiative.
AAH and Northgate Information Solutions have agreed a contract worth more than £2m that is set to ease the transformation of pharmacy operations across the UK.
The three-year deal will provide AAH with rapid response cover for its 'LINK' system, a set-up that allows customers to manage dispensing and key business processes, such as the efficient management of stock levels by electronically monitoring inventory.
Each time an item is dispensed, it will adjust stock and re-order levels enabling stock management based on dispensing activity.
All orders are prepared and distributed twice daily from any one of AAH’s 20 distribution centres throughout the UK.
"As the industry moves towards a paperless operation the need to have a system in place that allows customers to more effectively operate will be paramount," said Leon Rudd, Director of Marketing at AAH Pharmaceuticals.
"By ensuring we have the appropriate IT maintenance cover, we have put ourselves in a position to uphold our customer service levels.
"Northgate’s expertise has been invaluable in implementing the new services. In addition to maintaining LINK, Northgate will also provide additional support services across our operations, allowing our staff to focus on delivering to our customers across the UK. Overall, Northgate are enabling us to provide the highest possible level of service to customers."
