North Belfast sees further weekend of violence

North Belfast was embroiled in further violence over the weekend after numerous homes and cars where attacked.

During one incident a 16-year-old boy was beaten up by a gang of youths during trouble in the Clifton Park Avenue area. The teenager, who is in a stable condition in hospital, was hit with an iron bar and a stick during the assault on Sunday morning.

There were also further disturbances in the Ardoyne Road area of north Belfast. Around 200 people were involved in stone-throwing incidents in the Alliance Avenue and Glenbryn areas on Sunday afternoon. A pipe bomb was also diffused in the early hours of Monday morning in the same area.

Meanwhile, a car and the front door of a house were damaged in an incident in the Twaddell Avenue in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The police said a rock was thrown at the house and the windows of the car were smashed with hammers. (MB)

'No Evidence' Of Shots Fired At House In L'Derry
Police have said there was "no evidence" of shots being fired at a house in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Cornshell Fields area shortly after 11pm on Monday, 27 February. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police have carried out a number of enquiries and there is no evidence to suggest that shots were fired.

Delivery Driver Robbed In North Belfast
A delivery driver has been robbed after a man, pointed a suspected gun at him, in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Ballysillan area shortly after 3am on Friday, 16 February. The suspect approached the driver and pointed what is believed to have been a gun at him and demanded he hand over his money.

Pipe Bomb Explodes Outside House
A pipe bomb has exploded outside a property in north Belfast, police have said. The incident happened at a house in the Carlisle Square area, around 10.50pm on Thursday. It is understood a door to the property was damaged slightly. A man, said to be in his 20s, was inside the house at the time. He was not injured.

Appeal Issued To Woman Who Helped Assault Victim
An appeal has been issued following the assault of man in the early hours of Sunday morning, 11 March. A man, aged in his 30s, was attacked by up to three men at about 2am in the Glenabbey area of the city. He was treated in hospital for injuries to his face and arm.

Police Appeal After Woman Injured In Crash In East Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a collision between a car and a moped in east Belfast. The crash happened in the Parkgate Avenue area at around 11.25pm on Saturday, 13 May. The woman is being treated in hospital for her injuries.
