Teenager injured in Co Antrim explosion

A teenager has been taken to hospital suffering from serious hand injuries after an explosion in a garage at Carrickfergus.

The 16-year-old boy was alone in a privately owned garage at Garron Heights in the town when the explosion occurred at around 9.30pm last night.

No one else was injured in the blast.

Two security alerts in west Belfast have ended and been declared as hoaxes. The news came after a controlled explosion was carried out on a suspicious object found at the gates of Whiterock Leisure Centre.

Bomb explodes at Portadown petrol station
A bomb has exploded at a petrol station in Portadown in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Police confirmed that a homemade device, electronically operated and packed with nails exploded at Lavery's garage on the Corcrain Road. While no one was injured in the incident, damage was caused to the back wall of the garage and a petrol pump.

Teenagers Arrested After Stolen Tractor Involved In Hit-And-Run Collisions
Three teenager boys have been arrested in connection with a series of hit-and-run collisions involving a stolen tractor. Shortly after 3.30am this morning, police responded to a report of a stolen tractor in County Monaghan. A short time later the stolen tractor was discovered on Tivnacree Road in Derrynoose.

Appeal For Missing Teenager Morgan Forde
Police are appealing to the public for help tracing missing teenager Morgan Forde. The 16-year-old was last seen in Thompsons night club in Belfast during the early hours of Monday 06 May. She is described as medium build, with long dark dyed purple hair and can be quite tanned.

Appeal Issued For Missing Teenager
Police have issued an appeal to help trace a missing 14-year-old boy. Ian Carson has been missing from Sunday, 10 June. He is believed to be in the north or east Belfast areas. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
