Green Inc. Puts Marriages Through Their Paces For BBC Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland production company Green Inc. Film & Television has been commissioned by BBC NI to produce 'You're Not The Man I Married' (working title), a series of six half-hour long shows for Friday nights, presented by Angie Best, the former wife of football legend George Best.
Inspired by one of marriage's most unfortunate truths - sooner or later a husband can stop being the charming and romantic individual you married - this light-hearted transformation series puts husbands through their paces in the hope of reigniting the spark.
Each episode introduces the audience to a new couple all of which have different yet familiar problems and new forms of all too common male behaviour. Challenging these husbands to show just how much they care, 'You're Not The Man I Married' puts them through a boot camp, eradicating their less than ideal habits and teaching them how to get their marriage back on track, while providing a fascinating insight into how to make a lasting relationship.
Stephen Stewart, Managing Director of Green Inc., said: "Relationship formats can have a universal appeal and this is our ambition for 'You're Not The Man I Married'. We are committed to developing strong, interesting and exciting factual entertainment programmes and with this latest commission we are delighted to be continuing our long and productive relationship with BBC NI."
Green Inc. was recently ranked third factual entertainment producer in the UK by Broadcast magazine. The company is currently producing a range of entertainment, comedy and factual entertainment including 'All Or Nothing' for ITV and 'The Afternoon Show' for RTÉ. Further credits include 'Last Chance Lottery' and 'DJ Academy' for Channel 4, 'Patrick Kielty Almost Live' for BBC One, 'Anderson In', 'Teenage Kicks' and 'It's A Queer Life For The Straight Guy' for BBC Northern Ireland, 'It's Not The Answer', 'DIY Dads' and 'Afternoon Cooks' for RTÉ and Irish language programmes 'Deis Roc' and 'Seachtain Le Gaeilge' for TG4.
'You're Not The Man I Married' was commissioned by Alisa Orr and Fergus Keeling for BBC NI. Produced by Kathy Littler and directed by Robin Murray and EP by Chris Jones.
