Rathcooole Beating

A gang of about 10 men, some of whom were armed with hammers, have left a young Newtownabbey man in hospital.

The unnamed 21-year-old man was taken to hospital following the serious assault in the Rathcoole Estate.

A PSNI spokesperson said the attack took place at the back of houses in Dunloy Gardens at 9.20pm on Tuesday.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have asked for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.

Man Stabbed In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing attack in south Belfast. A man, aged in his 40s, sustained a stab wound to the neck at residential premises in the St Jude's Parade area at around 1.20am on Tuesday, 29 August. He was taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Shot In West Belfast
A man has been shot in both legs in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast. The attack occurred in the Ardmonagh Gardens area shortly before 9pm on Saturday, 25 June. The victim was taken to hospital however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Faeces Thrown In Hate Attack
A man has been hit in the face with faeces in what police are describing as a "hate attack" in Belfast. The Romanian man was cycling on the Newtownards road on Wednesday morning at about 09:15 when the attacker, dressed in dark clothing, emerged and threw faeces at him. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
