Further Road Casualties As Pedestrian Dies
It has been a weekend of road accidents and tragedy across the Province with news that a 57-year-old man has died in hospital after a crash in north Belfast on Wednesday morning.
Mr Fred Bailie was a pedestrian who was involved in a collision with a car at 8.30am on the Glencairn Road in the Ballygomartin area of the city.
Meanwhile, two people have been seriously injured after a road crash in nearby Newtownabbey on Sunday.
The pair are being treated in hospital for serious injuries after the early morning crash - around 5am - on the Carntall Road.
Police said that a 20 year-old man and a 25 year-old woman were seriously injured in the one vehicle crash and are being looked after at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast
Earlier in the weekend, another accident left injured two men in the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald after a four-car road crash outside Holywood.
It happened on the Bangor Road at the Culloden Hotel just before 7pm on Friday. Those injured are said to be in a stable condition.
The crash caused traffic disruption in the area for some time.

A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Man Killed In Fermanagh Road Crash
A man has been killed in a road crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened on the Derrygonelly Road in Enniskillen at around 2pm on Saturday, 15 October. Two other people were also injured in the two-vehicle crash. Elsewhere, a man has been seriously injured in a road collision in Ballywalter, Co Down.
