Two die in road accident
Two men have been killed in a three-car collision during rush-hour traffic in south Belfast last night.
The accident occurred on the Saintfield Road, near Ballynahinch, at around 6.30pm.
The two men that died were travelling in a red Honda Civic which was reported to have crossed into the path of oncoming traffic, before colliding with a white Peugeot van. The driver of the Peugeot sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition was said to be critical.
The driver of a Volkswagon Polo which was also involved in the accident was treated for minor injuries and shock.
The names of the deceased, who were reported to be in their late teens or early 20s, have not yet been released.
Police revisited the scene of the accident with forensic experts this afternoon. As a result, a stretch of the Saintfield Road from the Knockbracken Road to Manse Road was closed between 12pm and 3pm.
