A clean sweep for Atlas Environmental
Drumaness-based company, Atlas Environmental, have joined an exclusive band of Northern Ireland companies by gaining the ISO 14001 certificate for excellence in environmental management.
The company, which has been trading for around 30 years, specialises in waste oil recycling and hazardous waste collection and treatment. The company was presented withs its award by Environment Minister Dermott Nesbitt at a ceremony in the Ramada Hotel, Belfast, earlier today.
Speaking at the presentation, Mr Nesbitt said: “Attainment of the ISO 14001 certificate is an achievement to be proud of. I would like to congratulate all those involved at Atlas Environmental who worked so hard to make the standard.
"The Northern Ireland environment and heritage needs to be protected and we all have a part to play in that duty of care."
Atlas Environmental, which was formerly known as Capital Oils, is part of the DCC Plc-owned group of companies - which include Emo Oils and Flogas.
The ISO 14001 award, which was launched in 1996, is an internationally recognised environmental standard that sets standards over how an Environmental Management System (EMS) should be defined and implemented.
