Masked gang beat woman in front of teenage daughter
A woman has been severely beaten in front of her teenage daughter in a paramilitary-style attack in Belfast.
The 30-year-old woman was beaten by a gang of up to 10 masked men who broke into her Tamery Pass house in Willowfield at around 6am this morning.
The woman sustained a broken arm and a broken leg after she was beaten with iron bars. The victim's 12-year-old daughter was in the room while the attack took place.
The gang then ransacked the house and broke all the downstairs windows.
A car at the rear of the house was also damaged in the incident.
Anyone with information should contact detectives at Strandtown on 028 9065 0222.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old youth was shot in both legs in west Belfast.
The teenager was in his home in Ballymurphy, when masked men broke into his home at around 8.30pm last night.
He was dragged into the back garden of the house where he was shot. The victim was taken to hospital a short time later.

Train derailment injures a number of passengers
A Northern Ireland Railways passenger train was derailed this afternoon in County Londonderry. The train driver and eight passengers were injured when the train was apparently derailed by an obstruction on the tracks thought to be a rock dislodged from an adjacent cliff following torrential rain in the area.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Elderly Woman Left Badly Shaken Following Burglary In Newtownabbey
An elderly woman has been left badly shaken after burglars broke into her flat in Newtownabbey. The incident occurred in Glenvarna Walk in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Two masked men entered the property by breaking glass in the door just after midnight. The two men made off as soon as they seen the woman.

Pensioner Burgled In East Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was burgled in east Belfast. The 90-year-old woman was left shaken after three men broke into her property in Abbey Park at around 8pm on Thursday. They made off with a sum of money and the woman's handbag. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
