Dublin Line Reopened
Army bomb disposal experts have diffused a device that sparked a security alert on the Belfast to Dublin railway line.
The suspicious object, which was found between Newry and Portadown on Thursday, contained an amount of black powder which had partially detonated. The item has been removed for examination.
The line has since been reopened for normal use.
Yesterday, two separate alerts came to nothing, one followed the discovery of a suspicious package at the headquarters of Invest NI, which organised the NI-US investment conference and another in the town of Banbridge - followed a phone call.
The town's main street was searched, but nothing was found and the alert was declared a hoax.
