Lorry Crash Death Closes Road
The Poyntzpass Road between Scarva and Poyntzpass remained closed early this afternoon after a man was killed in an accident involving two lorries. The man who died was aged in his 60s, according to the PSNI. The other man injured in the accident was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
NI Water 'Pollutes' Water
The official body, Northern Ireland Water has been fined for causing pollution in a river in Co Antrim. A discharge of untreated sewage into the Crumlin River, a tributary of Lough Neagh on April Fools Day last year was traced to a pumping station and has cost the organisation £5,000. It was also ordered to pay court and analytical costs of almost £200 at Antrim Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to the pollution charges.
Blaze Man saved
A man has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a house fire in Ballymena. Firefighters brought the man to safety after a blaze broke out at his Larne Road home on Tuesday night. It is understood a woman who was also in the house managed to get out before the Fire Service arrived.
Donkey Dies
A dog has killed a donkey near Ballyclare. The animal was in a field off Rashee Road when she sustained injuries to her face and throat that were so bad that the animal later died, despite being seen by a vet. The incident is being investigated by Newtownabbey Borough Council which said a report had been received about an English Bull Terrier attacking the donkey.

Man Dies In Tyrone Farm Accident
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has launched an investigation after a man died in a farm accident in Co Tyrone. Emergency services were called to the farm in the Coolaghy Road area of Ardstraw on Sunday, 02 September. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem is to be carried out.

A 20-year-old man died in the collision. Police say that the death is the 57th fatality on NI roads so far this year. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.
