Bomb Alerts Cleared
There have been two separate security alerts today as the Province prepared to welcome the Prime Minister Gordon Brown as well as the newly appointed Irish premier, Brian Cowen.
However, the 'bomb scares' - in both Belfast and Banbridge - have since been confirmed as cleared.
A PSNI spokesperson said that at around 9am, a telephone call indicated a device has been left near the electoral office in Banbridge's Bridge Street, which was evacuated.
The town centre was closed off to members of the public and traffic for a "very short time".
Following extensive searches, nothing was found and the town centre is now operating as normal.
Meanwhile, in Belfast, a package was found inside economic development agency, Invest NI's headquarters on Bedford Street shortly after 9.30am.
There was little or no disruption though - despite the proximity to the Blackstaff complex nearby where part of the major three-day US investment conference was is being hosted by Invest NI - and which the two PMs are travelling to Belfast attend.
After an examination, police deemed the package as not being suspicious and was declared "a hoax".
