Chinese man found dead outside backpacker hostel

A 24-year-old Chinese man has been found dead in Belfast over the weekend.

The body of the man was found in an alleyway close to the city centre on Saturday afternoon at around 5pm.

It is believed the man, who sustained severe head injuries, fell from an upstairs window of a backpackers' hostel on the Donegall Road.

Police confirmed that the man had booked into the hostel last Thursday and had also visited an off-license in Bradbury Place at around 11.30am on Saturday morning before returning to the hostel at about 4pm. His body was found just over an hour later.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them immediately.
