Arrests Reported By Police

Police have made arrests in two separate cases, one involving drugs and the other alleged dissident republican activities.

The PSNI uncovered a cannabis factory in south Belfast, which followed a search of premises at Finaghy Road South last night.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £100,000 were seized.

Officers have held two men, aged 43 and 44.

Meanwhile, five men and one woman have been arrested by the police as part of their investigations into dissident republican activity in Belfast.

Detectives carried out a number of searches under the terrorism legislation ast night.

They said a number of items seized during searches are being tested by forensic experts.

Man arrested after drugs find
Police seized a large quantity of Class A drugs, following a planned search at a premises in south Belfast yesterday. An amount of suspected Ecstasy and cocaine, with an estimated street value of £120,000, was recovered during the raid. A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of Class A drugs, with intent to supply.

Cannabis Factory Discovered In South Belfast
A large cannabis-growing outfit has been discovered by police during the search of a property in south Belfast. Officers searched the Ventry Street property on Monday and discovered plants with an estimated value of £85,000.

Appeal Issued After Teenager Sexually Assaulted On Belfast Bus
Police have issued an appeal after a teenage girl was assaulted on a bus in Belfast. The girl was travelling on a bus between Belfast and Dunmurry at around 7.40pm on Friday, 30 August. A PSNI spokesperson said they want to speak to a man described as having short hair, a beard and wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit and light-coloured shoes.

Police vehicles and cars belonging to members of the public have been damaged following disorder in south Belfast on Monday night, 15 July. No police officers were injured during the incident in the Broadway Roundabout area.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
