Lithuanian man denies murder charges
A Lithuanian man who appeared in court on Friday in connection to the murder of two fellow nationals in County Down in May has denied two charges of murder.
Appearing before Newry Magistrates 19-year-old Julius Aguonis told the court that he was innocent on both counts.
Police arrested the man after the bodies of two men were found stabbed and beaten to death near Warrenpoint golf course in May.
Mr Aguonis' address was given as Shuttleworth Road in Preston, England.
He was remanded in custody until September 25.
Police also arrested a Lithuanian woman on suspicion of assisting offenders in a joint operation with Lancashire Constabulary. She was later released without charge.

Second Lithuanian denies murder charges
A second Lithuanian man has appeared in Banbridge Magistrates Court charged with two counts of murder. The court heard that when charged, 21-year-old Vitalijus Sedovas, said that there had been mistake and he was not guilty. Mr Sedovas was remanded in custody to appear at Newry Magistrate's Court on October 23.

Simon Tang: Second Murder Charge Withdrawn
A second murder charge over the killing of Chinese restaurateur Simon Tang in 1996 has been withdrawn. Belfast Magistrates' Court has heard the case against Paul Allen will not proceed. Mr Allen, 39, of Drumhoy Drive, Carrickfergus, faced charges over the murder of Simon Tang. Mr Tang was a married father of two.

Man charged over Derry assault
A 26-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a 39-year-old man sustained serious head and facial injuries during an attack in Portstewart. The victim was attacked near the Diamond in the centre of the seaside town at around 9pm on Saturday.

Murder Suspect Extradited To NI
A man has been remanded in custody after being extradited over the murder of a mother-of-three in west Belfast. Jennifer Dornan, 30, was found stabbed inside her burning home in the Lagmore area of the city in August 2015. Raymond O'Neill, 40, was arrested by gardaí (Irish police) in Dublin 2016 on a European Arrest Warrant.
