Enterprise Needs £500m Revamp

The Belfast to Dublin Enterprise is facing difficulties and is in need of a £500m revamp Northern Ireland Railways has revealed.

Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy has admitted the service is facing problems.

The time taken to travel between the two cities could be decreased and on average the train breaks down every eight days.

Minister Murphy said: "The flaws relate to the structure the service operates on, which is the responsibility of ourselves and the two railway companies, to try and decrease the time between the two cities.

"Travel on the train between the two cities is hugely important for both administrations."

A standard adult return from Belfast to Dublin currently costs £36.00. Enterprise Fares did not increase with the budget.
