Weekend Of Incidents For Police
The past weekend saw numerous incidents being dealt with by the police across Northern Ireland.
In one of the more sinister, a handgun has been found in south Belfast.
The weapon was discovered following reports of a suspicious object on the Annadale Embankment.
Police and military personnel - including bomb disposal experts - attended the scene on Friday evening.
The gun has been taken away for further examination and to date, there have been narrests.
Meanwhile, there have been a series of break-ins and attempted burglaries in Banbridge.
In the first incident, a rear window was smashed in a house in Killysorrell Road near Dromore, but the thieves ran away after an alarm went off.
A house at Warringsford Road in Banbridge was also broken into, and items including jewellery were taken.
Door panels were also smashed at houses in Cascumm Road and in Ballievey, but it is not known if anything was taken.
The police are investigating a possible link to an incident in Dromara shortly after noon on Friday when a small dark blue car - possibly a Citroen Saxo or a Peugeot 106 - with three occupants was observed acting suspiciously on Aughnaskea Road and anyone with information is asked to contact police in Banbridge on 0845 600 8000.
In Co Londondeery, staff have been threatened during an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Coleraine.
Three masked men, two carrying guns and the third armed with a knife, entered the premises in the Sandal Village centre on Friday just before midnight.
They made off with a large sum of money.
On Saturday, a large quantity of jewellery has been stolen from a shop on Belfast city centre's Royal Avenue.
The burglars took the items from the display area of the pawnbrokers shop some time between 11am and 2.15pm and it is believed entry was gained from an adjoining building.
Police have appealed for anyone who has any information about the incident to get in contact with them.
The weekend also saw a man punched to the ground during a robbery in Belfast city centre.
The victim also had his wallet stolen in the attack, which happened in the early hours of
Sunday morning in the Donegall Street area. He was taken to hospital with facial and shoulder injuries.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
