Easter Tragedy As Party Goer Dies
There was a tragic discovery over Easter with a young man's body being discovered in a house in Bangor.
Unofficially named locally as 24-year-old Chris Cardwell, the remains were discovered in a house in the Willowbrook area of the seaside town late on Monday evening.
It is understood Mr Cardwell had attended an Easter Sunday party in Lisnabreen prior to his death.
He left the party in the early hours of Easter Monday with two friends and they made their way to a house at Balmoral Drive.
All three fell asleep in the house but after his friends failed to rouse Mr Cardwell at around 11pm on Monday, they called the emergency services.
Staff from the Ambulance Service and local police officers arrived and Mr Cardwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
A PSNI spokesman confirmed: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 24-year old man whose body was found in a house in the Balmoral Drive area of Bangor."
MLA Alex Easton said he was both "shocked and saddened" at the loss of a young man's life over the Easter period.
The DUP politician said: "This is a deep tragedy for his family as well as the local community.
