Man Injured In Fourth Brick Attack
A second motorist has been injured after a brick was thrown through the windscreen of his van in County Down.
It is the fourth such attack in the area in the past week.
Dominic Lennon suffered cuts to the head when a brick was thrown from a passing car on the road between Ards and Greyabbey at 7.40pm on Wednesday.
The incident has come just days after taxi driver Jackie Anderson was seriously injured when a brick was thrown through his car window, near Newtownards.
Mr Anderson had been driving along the Portaferry Road shortly before 10.30pm on Saturday when the attack took place. The brick had been thrown from a car travelling in the opposite direction.
He was found semi-conscious after the incident by a family who had escaped injury in a similar attack shortly after. He suffered severe head and facial injuries, and is now facing reconstructive surgery.
The Gilmore family had been driving home from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast when a brick was thrown at their car, hitting the bonnet and windscreen.
In a third incident, a group of youths threw a bottle at a woman's car two miles outside Portaferry, shattering her windscreen. She was described as "shaken", but escaped serious injury.
Councillor Joe Boyle from Portaferry believes the same people are responsible for all four attacks.
The brick which hit Mr Lennon's van was thrown out of a moving vehicle passing in the other direction at a bend in the road. Despite his windscreen being shattered he managed to pull into the entrance of Mount Stewart.
His wife, Deborah Lennon, was travelling just ahead of her husband when the attack happened, she said: "Whatever way you look at it, as far as I'm concerned it is attempted murder."

Brick Thrown At House In South Belfast Being Treated As Hate Crime
A brick thrown through the window of a house in west Belfast is being treated as a "sectarian hate crime", according to police. The house on Walmer Street was attacked just before 7.30pm on Sunday. Sectarian abuse was also shouted at a woman who was in the property at the time of the attack, however she was not injured.

Construction Firm Fined For Waste Offences
A Craigavon construction company has been fined £1,500 for waste offences. Down Developments Limited pleaded guilty and was fined £1,500 following three charges of unauthorised waste offending at Craigavon Magistrates' Court. The company has been ordered to pay court costs of £10, an offenders’ levy of £15 and a compensation order of £3,454.36.

Police link racial attacks
Police are linking a single gang to two separate racially motivated attacks in Co Down on Friday morning. In the first incident a brick was thrown through the rear window of a car at Charles Way, Comber, at around 3.30am. Shortly afterwards at Lower Crescent in the town, a brick was thrown through the window of a car and graffiti scrawled nearby.

Four people have been injured during a day of attacks on Northern Ireland’s public bus services. One man was hit on the arm by a brick thrown through the window of a bus that was travelling along Gray’s Lane, near the Shore Road around 5pm.
