Taxi Driver Injured In Brick Attack
A taxi driver is being treated in hospital for severe facial and head injuries, after a brick was thrown through a car window near Newtownards, County Down.
Jackie Anderson, from Newtownards, had been driving along the Portaferry Road shortly before 10.30pm on Saturday when the attack took place. The brick had been thrown from a car travelling in the opposite direction.
Mr Anderson, who is said to be in a stable condition, faces reconstructive surgery to his nose after the attack. He was found semi-conscious after the incident by a family who had escaped injury in a similar attack shortly after.
Dermot Gilmore had been driving home from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast with his wife and two young sons when a brick was thrown at his car, hitting his bonnet and windscreen.
In a third incident, a group of youths threw a bottle at a woman's car two miles outside Portaferry, shattering her windscreen. She was described as "shaken", but escaped serious injury.

Man Injured In Fourth Brick Attack
A second motorist has been injured after a brick was thrown through the windscreen of his van in County Down. It is the fourth such attack in the area in the past week. Dominic Lennon suffered cuts to the head when a brick was thrown from a passing car on the road between Ards and Greyabbey at 7.40pm on Wednesday.

Man hospitalised following brick attack
A 33-year-old man has been treated for head injuries after being attacked with a brick in Belfast city centre at the weekend. The victim is believed to have been assaulted in Great Victoria Street at around 4pm on Sunday. He was immediately taken to hospital however his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Policewoman suffers fractured skull in brick attack
A policewoman has suffered a suspected fractured skull following an attack in north Belfast on Wednesday. The officer, along with two colleagues, was responding to a car accident on the Ligoniel Road at around 8.45pm when a brick was thrown from behind a nearby wall striking the woman.

Ambulance damaged in brick attack
A brick has been thrown through a window of an ambulance in Dunmurry. The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Wednesday. While the driver escaped injury, police condemned the attack saying it had the potential for more serious consequences. This is just the latest in a spate of attacks on ambulance crew in recent times.
