Recruitment Drive At Cookstown's CDE

A Cookstown-based quarry equipment manufacturer has announced it has embarked on an energetic recruitment drive to fill 40 new jobs.

Construction is well underway at CDE's new factory development following an investment of over £5.4 million and it is on track for completion in June 2008.

The major extension to its existing manufacturing capability at the Ballyreagh Industrial Estate site will initially create 20 new jobs with a further 20 positions created in other departments as a direct result.

This includes a continuing focus on the recruitment of project engineers, graduate engineers and design engineers to cope with the increasing business being secured on a global scale.

"We are currently looking to build the engineering department at our head office in Cookstown, which is central to the ongoing success of the company," explained Brian McCullough, CDE’s Design Manager.

"The design process for all of our work throughout the world originates from the hub that we have created in Cookstown. We can offer people exciting opportunities to work in design, project management and new project development over the coming months and years."

CDE’s products are currently being specified on a large number of projects in all four corners of the globe with recent orders won in India, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, the Baltic States and USA.

Cathy Carolan, CDE's Human Resources Manager, also commented: "We have already appointed a factory manager and process engineer to oversee the management and efficient operation of the factory and we are aiming to recruit a further 10 employees initially which will increase to 20 for our factory in Cookstown within the next six months.
