Weapons uncovered in Dunmurry search

Police have recovered an arms cache during a search in south Belfast last night.

Following reports of suspicious activity in the Seymour Hill area of Dunmurry, police uncovered a revolver, a pistol and a sawn-off shotgun.

The firearms were found in a plastic bag which had been stuffed into a hedge at Elm Corner.

Police also uncovered ammunition and firework propellant in the search.

Two Cannabis Factories Uncovered In Dunmurry
Two separate cannabis factories have been uncovered in Dunmurry in the last 24 hours, it has been reported. According to police, reports of suspicious activity led to the discovery of one of the factories at a flat in the Rowan Drive area, containing plants and herbal cannabis worth an estimated £115,000.

Suspected Drug Factory Uncovered In Newtownabbey
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the discovery of a suspected drug factory in Newtownabbey. The facility was uncovered after police had earlier arrested a 45-year-old man in the Castlereagh Street area of Belfast on suspicion of a number of drugs offences. Seven Police Officers Disciplined Over Pensioner's Death
Seven police officers have been disciplined over an investigation into the death of Lisburn man Jim Heasley in October 2010. The 70-year-old was assaulted as he walked home from Lagan Valley Pigeon Club. An investigation by the Police Ombudsman found a series of failings in the initial police response.

Tractors seized during police investigation
More than £200,000 worth of stolen goods have been uncovered by police during the investigation of illegal dumping of rubbish in Co Fermanagh. The goods were found on Monday as police accompanied staff from the government's Environment Heritage Service searching for rogue waste.
