Flight Disruption Hits Cork-Belfast Travel
Some Belfast-bound flights were hit today as a number of early morning departures were disrupted at Cork Airport in the Irish Republic, due to an ongoing air traffic controllers dispute.
The affected airlines included Aer Lingus, Aer Arran and Ryanair and included flights to Amsterdam, Prague, Belfast, London and Munich, which were due to take off from 6:30am.
However, Cork Airport management said that almost all of the early morning flights had now departed and that there had been minimal disruption to services.
Air traffic control services at the airport had been closed between midnight and 8am, as part of an industrial dispute over staffing levels.
