Two men in court over armed robbery

Two men are to appear in court this morning charged with armed robbery and membership of the UVF.

The two men, aged 25 and 26 years, will appear in Downpatrick Magistrates Court today in relation to the armed robbery of a Tesco filling station on the Bloomfield Road in Bangor yesterday morning.

Police made the arrests shortly after the robbery and a sum of cash was recovered in the operation.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Investigation Launched Following Attempted Robbery In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after employees at a takeaway restaurant in Belfast were threatened with a hammer. The incident happened at premises on the Shankill Road shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, 07 March. A number of masked men armed with a hammer threatened staff and demanded them to open the till.

Teenager Arrested In Connection With Attempted Armed Robbery
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and carrying a firearm with criminal intent. The arrest was in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a fast food takeaway in the Rathgael Road area of Bangor on the night of Thursday, 19 October.

Appeal For Information On Attempted Armed Robbery
PSNI detective have issued an appeal for information following a report of an attempted armed robbery at premises at the Rathgael Road area of Bangor on Thursday 19th October. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant Bell said: "Shortly after 9:20pm, it was reported that a man armed with a suspected firearm entered a takeaway in the area.
