'Tiger' Kidnap Robbers Sought
In the latest of a continuing number of so-called 'Tiger' kidnaps - where a family is held by robbers to force a keyholder to take cash - a Belfast bar manager's family was held hostage at gunpoint in their home while he himself was forced to take money from the bar in west Belfast.
The victim was at his home in Horn Drive in Belfast, when he answered a knock at the front door and was confronted by two armed men who forced their way inside.
The man's partner, two teenage children and a baby were forced into an upstairs room and he was told to go to the Laurel Glen Bar on the Stewartstown Road and collect cash.
The men remained in the house while the bar manager did as ordered and then, following instructions, drove to a church where he was met by a third man who took the cash from him.
The Police said the bar manager returned to his home, found the two men had gone, and raised the alarm.
Police are hunting the robbery gang.
