Man in hospital after Co Armagh bomb attack

A man is being treated in hospital for the effects of smoke inhalation after a bomb attack on a house in Portadown, Co Armagh, last night.

The attack occurred shortly before midnight when the window of a house on Festival Road was smashed and an explosive device was thrown into the living room. The subsequent explosion started a fire which caused serious smoke damage.

A man who was in the room at the time was uninjured by the initial explosion but was later taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation where he was described as being in a stable condition.

Army Technical Officers recovered a second device, which was intact, outside the house.

There were no other injuries reported in the attack.
