Death Crash Driver Caught Speeding
The Fermanagh driver who this week admitted killing four young people by dangerous driving was found to have been caught speeding on the same stretch of road just months after the fatal crash.
Daniel McDonnell, 21, from Galloon Gardens, Newtownbutler, was also over the drink-drive limit when his car went out of control and hit a tree, killing Peter Leonard, Anita Swift, Jonathan McDonald and Danica O'Rourke, who all died in the crash near Lisnaskea in July 2006.
In October 2006, on the same stretch of the Moorlough Road, McDonnell was stopped by police for speeding.
He was doing more than 65mph, when he was a restricted driver and should not have been doing more than 45mph.
He told police: "I was in a hurry. I'm late for work". It was his second conviction for speeding.
Adjourning Monday's case for sentencing on 21 February, Judge McFarland warned McDonnell that he would be going to prison.
The crash tragedy was compounded when the Swift family were given the wrong girl's body for burial.
The body of one of the teenage girls had to be exhumed after it emerged the wrong person had been buried.
At the time, the coroner admitted there had been "initial misidentification".

Woman Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

PSNI Seek Driver After Speeding Car Hits A1 Barrier
Police are appealing for information to help trace the driver of a car which smashed into a barrier after travelling at speeds of up to 100mph. Officers said that on Thursday 15 November at approximately 11am the Audi A3 was seen speeding along the A1 carriageway.

A driver has been caught speeding at 113mph in Co Antrim on Sunday, 22 October. The motorist was caught by PSNI Road Policing on the new dual carriageway of the A26 near Ballymena.

A driver has been caught doing a "completely crazy" speed in Co Down. The PSNI caught a driver speeding at 135mph on Tuesday night, 06 June. The motorist is being taken to court, police confirmed. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Wise up, slow down." Driving at excessive speeds can lead to disqualification.

Teen Rally Fan Dies
A young man from NI has been killed at the Donegal International Rally. The teenage spectator, Richard O'Donnell, known locally as Richard McGrath, died after being hit by a competing car at Ballyarr outside Letterkenny on Saturday afternoon. Mr O'Donnell was from Jefferson Court in Strabane.
