Hollywood Stars Come Out - In Coleraine

It's a long way from Coleraine to Hollywood (USA) but the family of Jayne Wisener, the Northern Ireland star of upcoming gothic horror blockbuster Sweeney Todd, is being given the chance to see her in action in a special preview in …… Coleraine!

The local girl-made-good will be on the big screen alongside heart-throb Johnny Depp at a special showing of the much-anticipated Hollywood musical/horror movie.

They will be guests of honour at a private screening at their local Movie House cinema in her native Co Londonderry town.

Jayne (20) stars in Tim Burton's new work as Lucy, Todd's long-missing daughter.

Based on the hit Broadway musical, the film tells the infamous story of Benjamin Barker, (Sweeney Todd), who sets up a barber shop in London which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs Lovett.

Coleraine's Jayne has already stepped out in style last week for the UK premiere of the movie at the Odeon Leicester Square, alongside co-stars Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter.

This week, a Movie House spokeswoman said: "We hope the film will do well and that people will turn out to support local girl Jayne Wisener.

"We are pleased to be able to offer her and her family a private screening of the film at her local cinema in Coleraine."

Jayne was a second year student at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow when she landed the coveted role.

She was acting in a production of West Side Story in 2006 when she was spotted by talent scouts on the look-out for an actress to play Lucy.
