Building Support For Seniors' Charity Celebrations

A leading Northern Ireland construction firm has lent its support to an important charity for older people.

Patrick McLain of Acheson & Glover presented a cheque to Maeve Egerton of the charity Help the Aged in Northern Ireland - one of the organisations benefiting from the construction materials manufacturer’s policy of making annual charity donations instead of distributing corporate Christmas gifts.

Helped the Aged will be marking its 21st birthday in Northern Ireland during the coming year and, to celebrate, has set itself a challenging fundraising target to raise an extra £210,000 - £10,000 for each year it was worked in Northern Ireland.

This money will be used to further develop the charity's local Home Support services which are designed to support older people to live independently in their own homes for as long as they wish.

The other organisations receiving donations from Acheson & Glover this year are the Lighthouse Club - the construction industry charity - and Aware, A Dublin-based mental health charity.
