Airport Seizures: Men Held

A passenger arriving from the Continent into Belfast International Airport has been arrested after the seizure of 250g cocaine.

The 26-year-old Londonderry man was held after the cocaine with a street value of some £15,000-£20,000 was found during a search of luggage on a flight from Amsterdam.

Separately, a subsequent search of luggage from an Alicante flight, uncovered 26 kilos of hand rolling tobacco as well.

In that case, a 41-year-old Belfast man was arrested. HM Revenue and Customs were involved in both incidents.

Enquiries into the items seized are continuing.
