Leading hotel operator targets Belfast

Hotel owners and operators in Belfast are being targeted by hotel development and franchise company Golden Tulip UK as it rolls out plans to set up 30 franchised hotels across the UK.

Earlier this year, the company was awarded the master franchise for the UK and Ireland by Golden Tulip Worldwide - one of Europe's three largest hotel franchise operators.

Golden Tulip UK's expansion programme has also been significantly boosted through securing £33 million in funding.

The franchise formula is aimed at both individual and group hotels operating three to four-star quality facilities in primary or secondary business and leisure locations.

Golden Tulip will offer franchisees the already successful franchise formula as well as a cost-saving procurement system, a highly competitive fee structure and the training expertise of the Golden Tulip Business School.

Announcing the franchise offer, Andrew Silver, franchise director of Golden Tulip UK, said: "Golden Tulip is one of the most respected names in hotel franchising and we are confident there are a number of hotel businesses in this area which would benefit from joining us. The franchise formula is a proven success worldwide and provides an exciting opportunity for growth."

Golden Tulip, which started in 1961, is one of the world's top 20 largest hotel chains with 273 hotels in 200 cities across the world. In Europe, where the group also includes TOP International Hotels - which is among the three largest hotel franchise operators with more than 400 hotels.
